The Early Beginnings
Scott was keen to join the workforce from the first day he was legally allowed to work. As a young, enthusiastic kid he wanted to earn his own money to gain that little bit of
independence which some young minds crave.satisfaction.
His first job was at a local nursery where he was a casual staff member on weekends
helping customers by using his practical knowledge to help them with their basic
landscaping needs. Scott quickly came to the realization that his strengths were being practical, hands-on but most of all, he needed to work outdoors.

Fast-forward a couple of years, Scott started his first business. Even as a 17-year old school kid, he knew that he wanted more responsibility and to dictate his own working hours. Knowing that he wanted to finish his higher school education, running his own lawn mowing business gave him the flexibility he needed to earn his own money as well as sticking to his studies.
Scott initially grew his client base through word-of-mouth after servicing some family and friends in the local neighbourhood, obviously doing a good enough job for word to get around! Despite being in Year 12 with the Higher School Certificate (HSC) around the corner, he wanted to be busier so he decided to advertise in the local newspaper to gain more exposure.
Once the HSC was done-and-dusted, Scott sold the lawn mowing company and applied himself to an Apprenticeship in Carpentry. Being a mix of working full-time as well as completing his Builders License and multiple Business Management Courses with his heart set on
managing his own home building business in the future.
A New Love For Building
Once his apprenticeship was completed, Scott decided to open his doors as Elite Decks as a business specialized in building decks, verandas and pergolas of all shapes and sizes. Since he had learned many skills in business management such as quoting, client relationships,
procedures, insurance and project management in his previous company, Elite Decks was
already a step ahead with plenty of momentum.
With business booming and satisfied clients wanting home improvements completed by Scott himself, he soon recognized the need within the local community to expand into the home building scene.

Elite Additions Current Day
In order to officially announce yourself as a builder, you need to jump through some hoops. After gaining his Home Warranty Insurance and officially completing the last course of his Building License, Scott officially changed the business name from Elite Decks to Elite Additions Pty Ltd.
Fortunately for the newly formed Elite Additions, sourcing new work was made easy since Scott has built such a firm reputation as one of Sydney’s best value builders. The most
challenging part of having so many leads is planning projects up to 12 months in advance! After seeing similar, smaller building businesses struggle after growing too quickly, Scott has the intelligent idea that he wants to stay ‘on-the-tools’ with his team to make sure every
project is completed to the highest standard.
After having a number of apprentices, builders and tradespeople come and go over the years, Scott has now successfully built a reliable team of experts to help Elite Additions
establish itself as a high-quality builder within the northern Sydney region.
